Turn Your Android Phone into a DIY Portable Game Console. !!

Android: If you just want to play your favorite game, possibly on the go, a good emulator will do the trick. If you have an Android phone or tablet, it's easy to turn it into a portable console. Here's what you'll need.
First, you'll need to find out if your device is OTG (on-the-go) compatible. This means you can control your Android device with a gaming controller by connecting them with an OTG cable. Do a quick Google search for your phone's make and model and "OTG support." You may see right away if your device is supported, but if not, CNet suggests using USB OTG Helper, a free root app that will tell you if your device is supported.
Once you know your phone supports OTG, you can grab a cable from Amazon for $8.99 on sale. Then you can use it to connect your Android device and gaming controller via USB. Download and launch your favorite gaming emulator then play. You can even stream to your Chromecast device to play on the big screen, but a tablet is a good enough size for many games.
